Summer comes with all sorts of events and parties that are always dominated by foods and drinks. Whether it’s your cousin’s birthday, your girlfriend’s engagement party, a concert, or a pool party, no one wishes to miss out.

 This is the time when different summer outfits come out of the closet to show off their color and style. Although many people may have a dressing code they adopt for this season, for some, it may be hard even to decide what to wear to a summer party.

For that reason, I have highlighted five types of summer parties below and their suitable outfits.

BARBECUE PARTY

Barbecue parties are typically about burgers and cocktails, so style yourself accordingly. Consider a loose relaxed summer dress, so you can have as many burgers as you wish.

If it’s an evening barbecue party then carry a slouchy summer sweater that goes well with a loose dress. Another summer outfit for this can be a tunic and jeans, pretty shorts, or a sundress.

For your foot ware always go for flats or flip-flops. Remember comfort, should always be key.

DINNER PARTY

Summer dinner parties are mostly hosted outside, probably in the backyard, so that leather jacket will come in handy.

Maxi dresses are perfect as they offer coverage from bugs. But if you still want to show that stylish summer look, a jumpsuit should be your priority, wear it with heels or wedges to help in lengthening.

POOL PARTY

Before dressing up for a summer pool party, find out if there will be swimming involved. If there is, wear swimsuits first then cover it up with a chic summer outfit like a pretty sundress, a romper or substitute a crop top for a bikini top, and attractive shorts.

Now if there is no swimming you can wear a pretty sundress or be stylish by putting on a mini dress and high heels.

ENGAGEMENT PARTY

Whether it’s a traditional cocktail, dinner, or backyard barbecue, engagement parties always exhibit a lot of fun, and people look amazing in their summer outfits.

If you are attending one, you would also want to look stunning at the same time not to outdo the bride to be.

The good thing is most engagements have specific attire, and it would be better to ask the host if it’s not included on the invitation card. Most of them however call for dresses at or a tad above the knee.

Choose a cool summer dress, it can be a one-color dress (avoid white unless the bride to be won’t be wearing white) or a bold block colors dress, accompanied with playful accessories.

For your foot ware Plan for a long night or day of moving around and dancing, so consider comfortable yet fashionable shoes.

CLUB PARTY

It is summer, and it’s likely not going to get freezing in the club, but just in case, take your jacket with you. The important thing is balancing between looking chic and being comfortable.

If you’re heading out to a fancy spot, a jumpsuit with high heels will be what to go for. If it’s too warm a bodycon dress or a cute pair of shorts and bralette with an over shirt with heels will be a perfect choice.

 BOTTOM LINE

Now that you have an idea of what to put on for the next summer party, don’t hesitate to come out and show your style and gorgeousness, for summer is all about colors fashion and partying.
