HOW TO PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY PREPARE FOR A WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY

Pursuing anything in life needs perseverance, determination and most importantly planning. Planning something helps you know the efforts and sacrifices you will have to offer to reach your goal; it also defines your readiness to take on a course.

This rationality can be applicable when starting a weight loss journey.

Being prepared mentality and physically for the changes you want can act as a motivation to succeed. Think of weight loss as not just a short time rushed goal but a long-term healthy lifestyle.

Below is a checklist to follow to ensure your physical and mental preparedness for weight loss mission. 

Set a Target to achieve  

Whether it is to up our self-image or to stay healthy, it’s good to set a weight loss target to work as a guide. What you have to know is that you cannot be too thin or too heavy, so the first thing to check should be your BMI, your BMI should not be below 18.5 or above 25

Another thing to check is your waist circumference, the waist always come out first to alert us when we put on extra weight, and therefore it will be easy for you to know when you are out of shape by measuring your waist.

After knowing your BMI and your waist circumference then you can set your target, 

Set achievable goals and don’t focus on what is ahead but the little you accomplish every day. 

Consider an Appropriate Time to Commence

Is any festive season near the corner? Or do you have a demanding work schedule that you have no time for yourself? Then you better not start your mission.

In such seasons it will be hard for you to follow your weight loss program, and in case you start you will give up before you make any progress.

Chose a time when there are no party events and when there is little going on in your life. If time is favorable then do not procrastinate the early you start the better. 

Make a meal plan 

Everyone has a relationship with food; when you set your mind to lose weight, your meal structure will be affected in terms of quality and the quantity, and so a little calculation will be required. 

Consider cutting down foods with high-calorie content and incorporate nutrient-dense foods. Plan to limit saturated fats and sugary foods and drinks

Groom your innermost drive.

Train your inner being to embrace what you are before adopting what you will be. Many people struggle with low self-esteem because of their weight.

Let weight loss be seen as a way of improving your lifestyle and not a form of resolving your self-image. This way, you will be motivated from the inside out.  

Don’t think of the gym. 

Don’t resort everything to the gym, when you want to exercise taking a walk in the pack or the neighborhood or doing some stretches during the day can help you cut some calories without visiting the gym.
