HOW TO GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR MORNING AND HAVE A PRODUCTIVE DAY
Are you someone who drags out of bed with one eye closed and the other half open, cursing the innocent morning while walking to the bathroom, or are you the kind that smiles, stretches, and gets out of the bed full of energy for the day?
I hope you belong to the latter.
Best mornings are believed to motivate the rest
of the day and boost your productivity. But people just don’t know how to
achieve this, below are five things you should consider doing to get the most
out of your morning and have a productive day ahead.
PLAN THE NIGHT BEFORE
If you think you can wake up and start doing
things unplanned hoping to get the most out of your morning, then you are in
for a ‘rude’ shock. You will end up not making your bed, wearing the wrong
clothes, missing your breakfast and to crown it all arriving late at work.
Keep things in order before sleeping, organize
the things you need for the next day, have a clue of what you will prepare for
breakfast, and if you have more things to do before going to work, wake up a
bit earlier.
START EARLY
Going to bed early enables you to have enough
rest and wake up early feeling renewed. If you have other family members to
take care of then your waking up hours not only affect you but them too, so
always ensure that you are up early enough to do your morning tasks
effectively, and also have time to get yourself in the right state of mind to
face the rest of the day.
RESIST EMAIL AND NOTIFICATIONS TEMPTATIONS
If checking your social media notifications and emails is the first thing you do when you wake up then you probably waste a minimum of 45 minutes every morning.
Don’t expect to get the best out of your
morning if you’ll start wasting time on other people’s agenda. Check your work
email in the office and your social media accounts during your free time.
EXERCISE
Research shows that people who exercise in the morning start their day in a happy mood and their mind is calmer and ready to deal with anything the day brings.
This is what you need to have a productive
day, I’m not saying you go for a 10 km run or wake up in the gym, no! Do some home
aerobics, or take a walk around your neighborhood or to make it fun, dance to
some music, just do something to get your blood flowing.
CLEAN AND DRESS WELL
Nothing boosts your confidence in the morning like being clean and smartly dressed. Take time to shower, brush your teeth, and put on nice clothes.
There is a feeling that uplifts your confidence when
someone tells you, wow! You are smart, I like your perfume, shoes, etc. and the
more confident you are the more you are likely to have a productive day.
CONCLUSION
Getting the most out of your morning will depend on you, remember morning hours are usually the shortest and you don’t want to waste them running up and down trying to figure out what should be done and what shouldn’t. Have a productive day by planning and embracing your morning with a positive attitude.
